The Department of Economics at the University of Insubria is a center of excellence dedicated to training economists, managers, and researchers equipped to tackle global economic challenges. With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and emerging economic trends, the department provides a stimulating environment for students, faculty, and researchers alike.
Our bachelor’s and master’s programs are designed to seamlessly blend theory and practice, preparing graduates to enter the workforce with strong, versatile skills. Research at the department addresses critical topics such as economic modeling, public policy, and technological innovation, within an interdisciplinary framework that encourages collaboration with businesses, institutions, and universities worldwide.
Academic Programs
The Department of Economics at the University of Insubria offers degree programs in economics and management. Our curriculum features a balanced combination of courses in economics, management, mathematics and statistics, and law.
The goal is to educate graduates who stand out not only for their solid foundational knowledge but also for their practical skills, developed throughout their studies and immediately applicable in the job market—whether in businesses, public institutions, research centers, or universities with an economic focus, both nationally and internationally.
Internationalization
Originally established to meet the educational and research needs of the local area, the DiECO has, over the past decade, embarked on a significant process of internationalization. This is reflected both in teaching - with a master’s degree program offered entirely in English - and through scientific collaborations with universities and prestigious research institutions, both in Italy and abroad. The department also participates in international research projects, benefiting not only its academic community but also local businesses and institutions.
