Organizations that orchestrate ecosystems bring together actors with different interests and priorities around a shared vision. Because coordination cannot rely on top-down control, orchestration depends on trust-building, relationship management, and anticipation. Based on a qualitative case study of a territorially embedded open innovation platform, this study develops a process model showing how orchestrators construct and sustain innovation ecosystems over time.
